Tralee St Patrick’s Day Parade Application Forms Now Available

LOCAL community groups and organisations, as well as clubs, schools and businesses are being called to action to participate in the 2019 St Patrick’s Day Parade in Tralee on Sunday 17th March.

This year’s parade will start at John Joe Sheehy Road and will continue through Boherbee, Castle Street onto The Mall and finishing in The Square.

Hundreds of people braved the elements to take part in last year’s colourful event through the streets of Kerry’s Capital and men, women and children are once again invited to join in the fun in 2019.

The Chairperson of the St Patrick’s Day Parade Organising Team, Johnnie Wall, said: “We are expecting over 40 groups to take part in this year’s parade which will get underway at 11.45am sharp on March 17th. We are looking forward to another great gathering of Tralee communities on the day that it means so much to be Irish or in Ireland. The name of the Grand Marshall, the person who will lead the 2019 parade into Tralee Town Centre, will be announced on Friday 9th March.”

A number of road closures will be in place from 10.30am on the morning of the parade and motorists and pedestrians are requested to follow the guidance of the volunteer stewards.

Entry forms are now available from Kerry County Council Offices in Rathass and Princes Quay as well as Cara Credit Union, Garvey’s Supervalu and Yummy Café and from the Tralee St Patrick’s Day Parade Facebook Page.

All groups/individuals wishing to participate in the St Patrick’s Day Community Parade, must complete and return the entry form by Friday 1st March 2019 to St Patrick’s Day Parade, c/o Kerry County Council, Tralee Municipal District, Princes Quay, Tralee or email to johnniewall@eircom.net.

Once all the applications have been received, each participant will be given a slot number and the numbers will be displayed along the assembly area at the starting line.

Kerry County Council, through the Community Support Fund, is the main sponsor of the Tralee St Patrick’s Day Parade.
