TRALEE folk, business people, their families and children are being encouraged to go the extra mile to tidy the town join as part of the the Kerry Clean-Up Day next Saturday, 12th April. The CEO of Tralee Chamber Alliance, Kieran Ruttledge, said: “Last year saw only a handful of Tralee people take to the streets to remove excess litter and waste ahead of the annual clean-up initiative compared to smaller towns in the county who had hundreds of volunteers. Let’s see more of an effort from the town as this is our chance to make Tralee the cleanest town in the county while making Kerry the cleanest county in Ireland.” Sponsored entirely by KWD Recycling, Tralee Chamber Alliance is are asking local residents associations, schools, youth groups, sporting groups, businesses, families or simply a few friends to get together along the major routes through Kerry and collect litter. You simply leave the sacks at the roadside and KWD arrange collection. It’s easy to get involved, gather your volunteers and register your group on this site to order your free ‘Clean Up Day Pack’ which includes reflective jackets, refuse sacks, event posters and information on how to organise an event plus information on waste reduction and recycling and finally when and where KWD will pick up the full sacks once the day is over. It’s a great way to get local communities together for a good cause and you can make the day more fun by running a treasure hunt or holding your event in fancy dress, and we’ll even have a prize for the best picture sent in from the day. Let’s show our pride in our county and ‘Clean Up’ Tralee and The Kingdom.
