Second Tralee Food Festival a success as masses fed in county capital

THE second annual Tralee Food Festival last weekend was a great success with appetites satisfied and thirsts quenched throughout the town.

The extended Food Trail incorporating restaurants, hotels, pubs and cafés showcased the excellent culinary offerings of the county capital, while the Craft Beer Trail confirmed the growth in demand for new brews.

This year’s festival was launched by Tralee Chamber Alliance CEO, Kieran Ruttledge, at a Guinness and Spa Seafoods event in Kirby’s Brogue Inn on Friday night.

The chefs who hosted the cookery demonstrations in the Square on Saturday both entertained and educated the palates of the large crowd that was in attendance during the day.

Once again, similar to last year, the weather played ball and the Market Stalls in the Square were thronged by foodies interested in sampling the great local produce on display.

Kieran Ruttledge thanked all the sponsors of this year’s Tralee Food Festival and the organiser, David Scott.
