Return of Tír na nÓg Children’s Festival in Tralee is “EGGS’ellent news for kids this Easter

TRALEE will be the centre of attention for children over the Easter holidays when the annual Tír na nÓg Children’s Festival swings into action with loads of fun kids of all ages.

A multitude of family-friendly events including egg hunts, Teddy Bears Picnic, Easter- themed camps, Puppet Shows and sightings of the elusive Easter Bunny have been planned to entertain children of all ages at various venues in Tralee until Easter Monday 17th April.

The President of Tralee Chamber Alliance, John Drummey, said: “Easter in Tralee is a joyous time for children. Tralee is weather-proof all year round and this springtime eggs-travaganza always brings the best out of the town’s tourist attractions, accommodation providers and specialist retailers. We hope that families from home and away enjoy the Easter Holidays in Tralee and we encourage everyone to keep Tralee tidy during the festival.”

Key event locations this year include Tralee Town Park, Tralee Bay Wetlands, The Ashe Hotel, Ballygarry House Hotel & Spa, Kerry County Museum, The Playdium, Crag Cave, Aqua Dome, Kingdom Greyhound Stadium, Siamsa Tíre Theatre, and Caball’s Toymaster.

Students from IT Tralee, who are currently on a work placement with Tralee Chamber Alliance, have compiled this year’s Tír na nÓg Children’s Festval programme and will organise three events, from which all profits raised will go to charity.

The Playdium will host their first event “Fun at The Playdium” on Friday 14th April from 11am – 1pm. Along with entry into the Playdium, the kids will enjoy face painting, a magic show, a raffle & an Easter egg to take home for each child. Tickets costs just €6 and registration forms can be got in Tralee Chamber Alliance, 18 Denny Street.

Their second event is the annual Kids Fancy Dress Fun Run in Tralee Town Park on Easter Saturday 15th April from 1pm – 3pm. A much loved event by all the family. Enjoy the warm up with Maura, face painting, music and fun with the Disney characters from Kingdom Party Pals. Registration forms can be picked up in Tralee Chamber Alliance and costs just €5 per entry. Each child will also receive an Easter egg, a medal & certificate for completing the Fun Run. This event is kindly sponsored by Garvey’s Supervalu.

The Easter Bunny and March Hare would like to invite everyone to their third event, a Children’s Tea Party on Easter Sunday, April 16th in the Ashe Hotel. This event will include fun & games, face painting or nail painting for the girls and a tea party with Alice & all her friends. All kids will enjoy making their own cupcake which they will be able to take home with them after!
