MATER Private Network is proud to announce that nine new consultants have joined the medical team at Mater Private Network Cork since September and more are set to come on board shortly.
There has been considerable investment in developing the medical campus at Citygate, Mahon and the arrival of the new consultants has ensured that Mater Private Cork is prepared to grow further in 2021.
The Managing Director, Martin Clancy, who also took up his role in September, said: “Mater Private Cork has a bright future despite what has been a disruptive year due to the Covid-19 pandemic. We are delighted to have reopened our Emergency Department and that the running of the hospital has returned to normal. In addition to the nine new consultants who have joined us since September, we will be recruiting additional consultants over the coming months to strengthen our existing specialist and back-up services. We are also looking forward to developing our Women’s Health Centre which is an evolving area for us under the stewardship of Professor Barry O’Reilly and his team.”

The Emergency Department, located on the ground floor of the hospital, reopened in October after a lengthy closure while the private hospital worked with the HSE in providing extra capacity during the first wave of the pandemic.
It is open from 9.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday to see patients on an appointment basis only to adhere to Covid-19 safety guidelines.
Another crucial access point, Urgent Cardiac Care, is a GP-referral service only and is open daily from 9am to 5pm.
