Thousands in Tralee for New Year’s Eve Fireworks

THOUSANDS of people of all ages were in Tralee Town Centre to enjoy the first of the Fireworks Celebrations on New Year’s Eve in Ireland.

The family-friendly event took place on Denny Street and the first rocket was launched at 7.20pm with just over 4,000 people in attendance.

Many of the revellers came to town early to enjoy a bite to eat in one of Tralee’s many restaurants before or after the event.

Tralee’s New Year’s Eve Fireworks lasted for around 10 minutes and were sponsored by John Drummey Communications, Tralee Chamber Alliance, Kerry County Council, BorgWarner, Manor West Retail Park, The Roast House and Murphy’s Tool Hire.

At midnight another event in Tralee was attended by around 1000 people who came out of the pubs and restaurants to watch the Count-Down Clock Video Screen which was located at the Pikeman Statue on Denny Street.

A pyrotechnic display was followed by a chorus of Auld Lang Syne led by MC Sean Lyons. The event was sponsored by Sean Murphy Electrical, Kerry County Council and Tralee Chamber Alliance.

The organisers expressed their gratitude to the Volunteers and Gardai who ensured that the events passed off without complication. The pyrotechnics and Fireworks were launched by Rocket Pyrotechnics, Ireland’s leading Fireworks Display company.
