THERE is much to be positive about in Tralee at the moment and the people of the town are being encouraged to attend a public meeting to brainstorm for an even more positive future.

The event, entitled ‘Let’s Talk About Tralee’ will be held at 7.30pm on Tuesday 12th November at the Brandon Conference Centre.

It will be an opportunity for people to discover exactly how Tralee Chamber Alliance and Tralee Town Council have been working together with the local community to lead growth and foster pride.

The President of Tralee Chamber Alliance, Pádraig McGillicuddy, said: “The meeting will mostly act as a forum where members of the public can talk-up-Tralee by offering positive suggestions on how the town can move forward. It’s open to members and non-members of Tralee Chamber Alliance with a view to enhancing the air of positivity that was generated by the recent successes in the Tidy Towns and Tourism Town Awards.

After the keynote speakers have made their presentation, the floor will be opened-up to the audience to offer constructive suggestions as to how they believe the town can continue to grow.

‘Let’s Talk About Tralee’ will be the first public meeting of its kind since March 2011 when the Tralee Task Force led the challenge of raising Tralee from the ashes of the Recession. It was from that meeting that Tralee Chamber Alliance was established with the amalgamation of the Task Force, Holiday Tralee and the former Tralee Chamber of Commerce.

“There was an uncomfortable mood of despair and negativity at that meeting but much has changed since then and it is important for the people to Tralee to see that when we work as a team it is possible to overcome a whole range of issues,” said Pádraig McGillicuddy.

The Public Meeting on Tuesday 12th November in the Brandon Conference Centre will commence at 7.30pm.
