Féile na mBláth at the 2015 Park Family Festival Tralee will be TEA-riffic!

THE Queen of Hearts was joined by Alice in Wonderland and the Mad Hatter to launch the tea-riffic programme of events for this year’s Féile na mBláth at The Park Festival Tralee on Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th June.

Kerry County Council and Tralee Chamber Alliance have teamed up to organise this year’s event which has something for everyone in the open air and under marquees from 9.30am to 6pm each day.

Tralee Municipal District Engineer, Frank Hartnett, said: “Féile na mBláth has long been a popular event on the festivals calendar in Tralee. In the course of the seamless transition from Tralee Town Council to Kerry County Council it was a priority to enhance Féile na mBláth as a popular, family fun event staged in our wonderful Town Park. On behalf of my colleagues, I wish to pay tribute to former Cllr Johnnie Wall and his team who organised this event in previous years. We look forward to carrying the baton forward with a bigger and better event this year.”

Féile na mBláth has all the ingredients for a magnificent mid-summer Park Festival in Tralee featuring World Street Performance Champions and National Circus Festival of Ireland favourites, The Lords of Strut.

Overall, there will be Dog Shows, Face Painting, Balloon Modelling, Bike Week Celebrations, Bouncy Castles, Flower Competitions, Gardening Demonstrations, music, song and Ballroom Dancing.

Hundreds of cyclists will line out for the Emergency Services Charity Cycle which will start at the Town Park at 10am on Saturday morning, returning in the mid- afternoon, during the height of the first day’s family fun.

Sunday’s programme of events will include Strictly Tea Dancing, Animal Roadshows, Flower Shows, Archery, Nature Walks, Arts, Crafts and Food.

The President of Tralee Chamber Alliance, John Drummey, said: “The Town Park in Tralee is a magnificent attraction for people of all ages, especially when it’s the venue for a weekend of top quality family entertainment. An event of this scale could not happen firstly without the support of Kerry County Council or the input of the people of Tralee. We are encouraging the entire community to come to Féile na mBláth at The Park Festival Tralee and to invite their family and friends around Ireland to visit Tralee on the 13th and 14th June.”

Féile na mBláth will take place from 9.30am to 6pm daily on Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th June and full details are available from www.Tralee.ie or find The Park Family Festival Tralee on Facebook.
