Easter in Tralee Eggsplodes with family fun events, Registration open for Easter Saturday Charity Fun Run

CHILDREN in Tralee and beyond have been sent a special message from the Easter Bunny to dust off their fancy-dress costumes in preparation for the eggstremely popular annual Family Fancy Dress Charity Fun Run in the Town Park on Saturday 20th April.

The Easter Bunny hopped into Garvey’s Supervalu Tralee to announce details of this year’s Charity Fun Run which will take place on Easter Saturday from 12.30pm and he encouraged children of all ages to book their place early at www.eventbrite.com.

The entry fee is only €5 with all profits being donated to Down Syndrome Ireland and every registered child who takes part will receive an Easter Egg thanks Garvey’s Supervalu Tralee.

The event will eggsplode into action with a Zumba Warm-up with Linda Flanagan from Zumba Kerry, while there will be face painting, music and a prize of family lunch at the Ashe Hotel for the Best Dressed Family!

But that’s not all because there will be lots of other fun events in Tralee over the two weeks of the Easter holidays.

The Chief Executive of Tralee Chamber Alliance, Ken Tobin, said: “Easter in Tralee is a joyous time for children. Tralee is weather-proof all year round and this springtime eggstravaganza always brings the best out of the town’s tourist attractions, accommodation providers and specialist retailers. We hope that families from home and away enjoy the Easter Holidays in Tralee and we encourage everyone to keep Tralee tidy during the festival.”

Kerry County Museum will host several fun family events throughout Easter in Tralee including the Easter Teddy Bear Trail, Easter Arts & Crafts Camp and Sásta Saturdays.

Ballyroe Heights Hotel will stage an Eggscellent Easter Afternoon on Saturday 20th April while the Easter Tea Party at the Ashe Hotel on Easter Sunday 21st April is always a big hit.

There will be Easter Egg hunts for Aqua Dome customers over the Easter weekend and the lucky winners will get to keep the eggs along with winning a complimentary ticket to the Aqua Dome.

Lots of chocolate is eggspected to be eaten over Easter, so lots of activity-based Camps are planned at Tralee Sports and Leisure Centre, John Mitchels GAA Complex and Tralee Dynamos.

Tune into Coffee House Acoustics in Yummy Café, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is the big show at Siamsa Tíre Theatre this Easter where there are lots of other great productions and craft workshops.

The Playdium will open for the two weeks of the school holidays (except Easter Sunday) while the Easter Bunny will be hosting breakfast at Crag Cave on Easter Sunday and Monday.

Spring is a time for creativity and children are invited to enrol for Paint Your Own Pottery Workshops in Mounthawk or pet the animals after the Egg Hunt at Sandy Feet Farm on Easter Sunday.

“Tralee Chamber Alliance is proud to support the organisers of the activities at the various locations and we are grateful to them for making the effort to ensure that Easter in Tralee is a memorable occasion for everyone,” said Ken Tobin.

Apart from the Charity Fun Run in Tralee Town Park on Easter Saturday, all the events are independently-run and varying entrance fees, terms and conditions may apply.
