John Drummey Communications is the official PR Company to the Rose of Tralee International Festival since 2008.
On Tuesday 21st August, Kirsten Mate Maher became the International Rose of Tralee for 2018.
RTÉ’s Dáithí Ó Sé announced the result in front of hundreds of thousands of television viewers and an audience of 2000 people in the Festival Dome.
The eldest of four children and the daughter of Jacinta Maher from Mullinavat and Kwalo Maté from Zambia, Kirsten hopes to pursue a career in computer programming. She has decided to defer attending college in WIT until 2019 so that she can enjoy the once in a lifetime experience as Rose of Tralee.
Since being selected as the Rose of Tralee, Kirsten has already attended a number of public engagements as the brand ambassador for Tipperary Crystal, the lead sponsor of the Rose of Tralee International Festival.
Throughout the coming year, Kirste will represent the Rose of Tralee International Festival at numerous corporate and charity events around the globe. She will visit a number of Rose of Tralee Centres at home and abroad to encourage women to enter selections in 2018. Jennifer will act as the brand ambassador for the Rose of Tralee International Festival’s lead sponsor Tipperary Crystal as well as other major sponsors, Kerry County Council and The Rose Hotel.
